The ACP Robotics program currently has 4 teams competing in the VEX Robotics Competition. They are the Knights, Jesters, Blacksmiths, and Mages. Information about each team can be found in their respective section.
As the first robotics team of ACP High School, the Knights represent our school with valiance and chivalry. First qualifying for the State Championship event in their second year, the Knights are relentless perfectionists that consider the thrill of competition their greatest motivator. During the 2015-2016 Nothing But Net season, they earned multiple Excellence Awards for their meticulous approach to robotics. At State that year, they were honored with the Judges Award.
With their bells and coxcombs, the Jesters like to bring a bit of cheer to tournaments, but they aren’t a team to fool around. Famous for completing an entire robot within the span of three days after spending weeks planning, the Jesters’ strategy is to use bold ideas that seem ludicrous when first contemplated but prove immensely successful upon application. In the 2015-2016 season, the Jester’s skills won them the honor of representing ACP High Schools for the first time at VEX Worlds.
Previously known as the Squires, the Blacksmiths might bring hammers and aviation snips to battle, but their grit and determination make them as formidable opponents as any. The Blacksmiths combine seasoned team members with our newest members, and emphasizes ensuring that the entire team becomes well-versed in the engineering process. This unique combination of students has qualified the team to State every year, and brought home a well-earned Tournament Champion trophy during the 2018-2019 season. As the Blacksmiths look toward the future, they hope to repeat and surpass this accomplishment.
The newest robotics team at ACP, the Mages combine knowledge and learning to become a powerful force at tournaments. During their inaugural season, the Mages put up an impressive win-loss record, winning 43 of their 62 total matches, and brought home three Tournament Champion trophies. In the 2019-2020 season, the Mages opted for a unique design which went against the meta, and while they didn't have as much success, they put up a serious fight in all their matches. With their unorthodox strategies, the Mages aspire to continue creating competitive robots.
